Re: Garmin 840xs pros or cons

I bought the 840xs for my main chartplotter on a 20' boulton. I love it, the soft key buttons were a little funny to get used to but for the most part garmin has nailed it again. I don't have radar...

WOW, that was a flurry of funny posts! I was thinking of posting something smart but didn't think it would elicit good response. ANYHOW... I'm glad no one was hurt but this had to be embarrassing.

Re: Going offshore...

Throughout my experience I have developed a pre-flight checklist that I run through prior to running out there. Exterior conditions such as weather, interior conditions such as clearing the bilge of...

Re: How far can I go for Tuna.

Stick with the rule of thirds. Your boat will burn it's own amount of fuel depending on several different factors/conditions. You need to know your burn rate and exactly how much fuel you have on...

Re: How do you split the tuna catch?

50/50 on the fish and fuel. Most of the time the fuel (unless it's a long run) is a negligible add to the split bill. Most guys that fish with us are so happy to pitch in they actually pitch in more....

Re: Weight of a 21' NR Seahawk

Re: How to attach aluminum floor.

Put the fuzzy side up so its nice on your feet!

It could have a bit of a sound insulating factor. Might degrade if it stays wet for any period of time.

Hell, I'd glue down outdoor carpet and...

Re: Halibut Hill, Newport

Most of the time in May small boats are getting beat up so bad that by the time they arrive at the ranch they don't want any more. They know fish are there so they stick around. Lets face it, May...

Re: I'm taking tuna gear this week . . .

Starting to feel that night before Christmas excitement like I did when I was a little whipper snapper. This year is going to be good, I can feel it. :meme::flowered:
