Down Rigger Clipping

I have always had good luck using divers and inline torpedo lead for ocean trolling..I thought that getting down to that 60/80 foot level might help with the Chinooks so I though the down riggers...

Was headed west to the North end of the pile got near the Weather buoy and dropped in never left...We were just a mile east of buoy...Blue and pink hoochies and chunks...behind fish flashes???...

You have to keep the boat moving..If you a at a stand still or very slow skates will have time to chew..., try putting the kicker motor in and out to speed up drift...Works for us...

I wondered how long it would be before ODFW tapped into the salt water fisheries with a new tag system...I will be curious to see how far they go and how deep they dig into our pockets...

Jamie according to the attached article they can get up to 80lbs...I have heard that those are only seen over in the western pacific...But who know maybe one day we will get a well fed one here....

Fished the lower channel from 0630 to 3pm...Water vis about 10" but not a lot of trash...We were the only boat most of the time...Did see about 6 at one time...3 fisherman no bites...There was one on...
