Sure the OP has some great fish but the clearwater is a special fishery where double digit days are not uncommon and the average size fish is large to say the least.......... Our fish are boots...

I have the 9.5 4-8# rod you speak of. Fish it about 5 days a week for steelhead up here on the upper salmon in Idaho. I've taken fish up to about 15lbs and I absolutly love it! I replaced a gl3 1082 ...

If your a bankie take some floats and 1/8 ounce jigs to the North Fork just outside of Orofino. Nightmare jigs work great!

Up here in I-D-HO we do it with great success on the lower clearwater just above the confluence with the snake. 2ft dropper to cannon ball, flasher, cut plug=fish on!
