Re: Canning tuna with Retort pouches

TRue, I opened the canner as soon as the gage went to zero and the ones that weren't split were puffed up like balloons due to the rapid pressure release. I think it is also important to pull as...

Re: Canning tuna with Retort pouches

Re: Canning tuna with Retort pouches

My first retort batch went off without a hitch. Canned it inside the house for 90 minutes at 13 psi. No smell because there is no need to exhaust the jars. My second batch was a disaster. ...

Re: Any Newport Salmon or Crabbing Reports?

Fished today at 200' off the lighthouse. One nice takedown, came unbuttoned. I have never seen the ocean so brown. It looked like stagnant swamp water. Got about 15 nice crab north of the jettys,...

Re: Love to hear your input about chamber vacuum sealers

I bought the same one a few years ago. After one season, I could hardly get it to seal. I used 200 bags that season. I called Cabelas and they said that they don't last forever. I told them that...

Re: Newport Coho Gone Quiet?

My guess and pure guess is that if the salmon are still near Seal Rock, they have moved either further west or south. My data is that I have heard sea lions from my house for the last month then on...

Re: Newport salmon report 7/30

Paybacks are hell pal. Wait til Saturday.

For those more refined readers, we found them at 220' straight off the light house. 7 Hatcheries in a row, then had to sort thru for the last 2. 52...

Re: Vacuum sealers?
