Re: Roll call for tuna out of Newport on Friday and Saturday

Big difference between 8-27-14 Fishtrack and Coastwatch. Fishtrack "cloudfree" shows 58.4 degrees F at 48/42 and 60.7 degrees at the corners vs Coastwatch 64 degrees F at the corners.

Anyone...

Re: Roll call for tuna out of Newport on Friday and Saturday

Good luck. Based on yesterday's Coastwatch 48/42 looks like a good starting place to point a boat to from Newport (or in decimal 44.8 X 124.7). ...

No Doubt Newport/Depot Bay was the place to be on Thursday. Now we have to wait until the ocean lays down again. Get your swim baits and irons ready it's almost September and second half time for...

Geogarage is no longer operational. Is there another website that has marine charts and a GPS number overlay when you place your curser on a point? Miss Geogarage as a planning tool.

Re: Newport Intel?

Thanks Ken,

I didn't make it out today, but my friend went out and I told him to try around the 61 area first. Don't know how he did, but when I find out I will report it.

Re: Tuna Thursday 8-21-14 Tuna -Charleston or Newport?

Talked to a boat out of Florence at 4:15 PM (pulling out of launch ramp) they ran west to the 125 line and south to 43.43. They caught 14 tuna and reported lots of birds west of WB. Captain said...

Which port is looking better for tuna. Are there any recent reports from Charleston or Newport/Depoe Bay? Are you running from Charleston or Newport/Depoe Bay.

Re: Roll call for tuna fishing on 8/21.8/22

Newport is as easy as Charleston, but you might have to run to
Further. However on Sat the tuna were just about 23 miles NW of Newport. Head to 54/44 and stop when you see feeding birds

Re: Depoe TUNA! report

As Peter said there are lots of tuna, Albie and Bluefin, just 18-20 miles west of Depoe Bay in 65 degree green blue water. Look for the birds feeding on the bait that the tuna are chasing. It was...

Re: Charleston Tuna 8/12--8/13

Looking tempting for Tuesday. Our boat is only 20 ft so we are cautious.

Have there been any recent reports of Tuna being caught west of Charleston?

Re: Chloro shot off Depoe

I use Coastwatch and my only issue is the shots are one day later then Rip Charts and Terrafin. Sometimes the SST/Chlor chance significantly in that one day.

Thanks for the report Brandon and the info that you shared on the water.

It took us to noon to limit, but the action was never dull. Most boats, like Brandon, limited by 9:00AM.

Thanks. Didn't look like Coastwatch because of the scales on the right side. I'm use to seeing them on the bottom.
