The ocean was beautiful, but the tuna wouldn't bite our trolling rods and we couldn't entice them to the surface when we stopped on sonar marks and threw much IFA. We heard similar radio reports....

Newport Tuna on Wed 8-26

Planning to run for Tuna from Newport on Wed 8-26 with Garthbrow on his 26 ft. Striper named "Quick Fish". Based on last Friday and Saturday reports the Tuna are not too far out and are very hungry....

The fishchecker counted 15 chinook and one fin clipped coho today. The jaws have been restricted. My friend caught 1 20 Lb chinook and 1 Jack today. I will give it a try tomorrow.

He can forget about connecting the DSC since he said that the Hummingbird does not support a DSC input.

As one other Salty Dog suggested try to Connect the radio GPS + input to white wire first...

Yep, agrees with what I wrote above.

Now, please call Hummingbird to see if the GPS supports receiving DSC data ( i.e. the white wire from the radio at 4800 baud rate). Might also ask them if...

I'm connecting the vhf radio I purchased to my humminbird 899ci hd si for gps.

The second photo is the instructions that came with the nmea cable for the humminbird.

Yes, we talked at the launch ramp. Got the fresh apple fritters at 4:00 AM at the Reedsport Sugar Shack. Most tuna fisherman can't resist them and they help to get me return invitations to fish for...
