Deeper Fishfinder Portable Wireless Sonar

by ifish Staff

Here's a special announcement from ifish sponsor Deeper Fishfinder:

Lots of anglers have been wondering when those who develop apps and innovative devices would come out with a gadget concerning sonars and flashers. There's no secret that most of us have our smartphones while fishing, so why pay extra for the display and touch screen monitor control when you already own one? Deeper Fishfinder team realized that and developed a small, tennis ball size device that floats on the water, scans everything under the surface and sends all of the data to your iOS or Android smartphone and tablet via Bluetooth from up to 150ft/ 45 meters.

With the weight of only 0.22lb and 2.6 in. diameter, Deeper is smaller and lighter than any other traditional sonar. It was specially designed to fit into your tackle box, so you could take your personal sonar anywhere you go and use it in places most sonars can't, like from kayak, small boat, shore, or dock. Bluetooth connection enables lower battery consumptions and no cellular data required for the device to operate, so you can use Internet connection on your smartphone or tablet while fishing.

Deeper sonar innovative Smart Imaging technology gives detailed and crystal clear images of underwater objects, fish targets, bottom contour and structure straight to your smartphone or tablet. Integrated dual beam technology allows you to scan the bottom in both - wide coverage - 90 kHz (55°) and narrow, excellent for ice fishing - 290 kHz (15°) radius. Wide beam provides ample search area for fish, bait fish and structure while precise narrow beam gives high accuracy returns of fish, structures, detail and bottom profile.

This tiny and light, but highly firm device maintains superior performance even down to -4 Fahrenheit temperature. Deeper with its extremely durable case, a built in Bluetooth antenna for long distances, rechargeable, long life, high-capacity lithium polymer battery and a special weather resistant and battery protecting foam was specially designed to withstand the worst weather conditions.

In order to use the device, you just have to download a free Deeper Fishfinder mobile application that you can find on App Store or Google Play. Deeper team believes that fishing is all about having good time. That's why Deeper app was designed to improve your fishing experience with easy to use tools and fast operations including GPS , fishing calendar, up-to-date weather reports, data history, fishing log and much more. Leave all of the hard work of collecting necessary information from different places and using hard to understand functions. With Deeper app you can enjoy fast, useful, automatically gathered and conveniently presented data in one application.

We all know that technology moves rapidly and sonar technology is not an exception. Convenient Deeper sonar updates is one of the greatest advantages that this gadget has. You can easily update your device on the go through the Deeper mobile application. You'll get all of the newest features and best performance from your sonar by keeping it up to date with the latest software. Deeper team believes that versatility is the key to success and with Deeper Smart sonar it is exactly what you get. Download the latest 3.0 software update, switch Ice fishing mode on and use your Deeper as a flasher. See your lure, prey, bottom, depth, water temperature and more with an amazing clarity on your smartphone or tablet.

Reach and discover with Deeper Smart sonar as there's always more water to explore and bigger fish to catch.

You can find more information about this innovative device on the official Deeper website: www.buydeeper.com

One Lure 50 fish? Yakima's Roostertail

by ifish staff

Yakima Bait Company held a national contest to join Yakima's Buzz Ramsey in a pursuit to catch as many different species in 4 days of fishing on a single brand of lure, the iconic Rooster Tail spinner. Todd Pearson, the contest winner, from Kenmore, Washington is currently joined by Buzz and Trey Carskadon in Henderson Harbor, NY. It is arguably one of the nation's very best multi-species destinations. It's where the St. Lawrence River comes out of Lake Ontario, it's also known as "the Golden Crescent". With film crews on site, as well as other Yakima fishing teams in Alaksa and California, the Yakima team seeks to document just how many species can be caught on one lure around the country!

If you would like to follow along in the action, Yakima's Trey Carskadon will be posting updates. Click Here to follow along. Good Luck to the Yakima Crew. Catch Em' Up!

Okuma Fishing Tackle Supports The American Red Cross With Consumer Discount And Donation Opportunity

by ifish Staff

The devastation to Northeast fishing communities caused by Hurricane Sandy is deeply saddening and incredibly unfortunate. As anglers, all of these people are members of our community, our neighbors across the country.

To lend support to those in need, we've created an opportunity that makes it easy to help.

Through December 15th, U.S. consumers can use the discount code SANDY on the Okuma Fishing Tackle website and receive 50% off the retail price of all in-stock Okuma branded apparel, as well as select reels identified as Hurricane Sandy Relief. Due to contract limitations, we are unable to offer this to our Canadian consumers.

Throughout this period, 50% of your total purchase amount of the discounted items will be donated to the Red Cross and their efforts to help victims of Hurricane Sandy.

For example, the Okuma hooded sweatshirt retails for $34.99. Using the discount code SANDY, the cost of the sweatshirt will be discounted to $17.50 + shipping. Of the $17.50, Okuma will make a donation in the amount of $8.75 to the American Red Cross.

Your gift to 2012 Hurricanes and Other Related Storms will help the American Red Cross prepare for and respond to tropical activity such as Superstorm Sandy, and provide services such as food, shelter and emotional support to those impacted across the country. On those rare occasions when donations exceed American Red Cross expenses for a specific disaster, contributions are used to prepare for and serve victims of other disasters.

The American Red Cross name and emblem are used with its permission, which in no way constitutes an endorsement, express or implied, of any product, service, company, opinion or political position. The American Red Cross logo is a registered trademark owned by the American Red Cross. For more information, please visit http://www.redcross.org.

If you are able to make a donation directly to the Red Cross, please do so. Okuma is offering this program with the realization that with tight budgets, many consumers are better able to make a donation as part of purchasing an item they want or need.

Thank you for your support!

Miller Marine Contest to Win a FREE Bait Table!

by Nicole Sinning

Miller Marine Products is holding a contest giving away a brand new product that they have just introduced, a 10" x 8.5" Deluxe bait table.

They recently added a small 10" x 6" bait table to their lineup of larger tables and several customers bought and love the new tables but wanted a place for scent bottles. They do not want to enhance the standard bait table and make it more expensive so they decided to add the deluxe model bait table to the lineup.

Miller has just launched a new web site so feel free to browse around and leave reviews.

Back to the contest...it is simple. Just go onto the thread and guess the number of shad to cross Bonneville Dam by 8 AM June 17th 2012 Father's Day. Each guess must include a product number from Miller's web site of any random product and not be the same as the last 10 posts. If you fail to include a product number your guess will not be counted. You may leave a guess and come back and add the product number later or change your guess if someone has not guessed that number previously. The first person to guess a number and post it owns that number. Post as often as you like but you only get one guess. The closest guess will be the winner all guesses must be submitted by responding to the thread with a guess and a product number(for example 22,000 & MMP-1001).

They will allow the winner to exchange the Deluxe Bait Table towards purchase of any of my other products of equal value or use that amount towards something more expensive. The winner will receive the Deluxe Bait Table and a Machined aluminum rod holder extension in your choice of styles to fit a Scotty®, Fish-On® or Folbe® rod holder mount. You will also have your choice of shaft lengths. Retail value of the Deluxe Bait Table MMP-1085 and Rod extension is $114.98.

The Deluxe bait table is 10" x 8.5" and has a leader holder or line spool holder, a place for scissors or pliers, a knife holder, a built in plug cut herring jig, and a series of 1/4" holes for hanging plugs, lures or jigs. This is an ideal size for small boats like drift boats and easily removes by just sliding the shaft out of the rod holder mount. The work surface is just right for cutting up eggs or rigging quick fish.

Visit www.MillerMarineProducts.com to play.

Here are a few pictures of the new Deluxe Bait table.

Good luck to all!
