| Benefits from Donating | ||
Ifish depends on donations in addition to advertising revenue, to help pay for the site's internet access, ever increasing bandwidth needs, upgrades, and maintenance. I have debated in the past about moving towards a paid members-only site like many other internet sites. I have always strongly rejected the idea, and www.ifish.net will, for now, remain a "free" site. I believe everyone benefits from free access to informative web sites such as this one, fishermen and women, schools, and other non profit organizations. Ifish.net currently uses several different methods to fund the site. With the growing numbers of members, and the increasing activity on ifish, the price for maintenance increases. The funding methods we use now are the annual income from our dedicated sponsors, advertising banners, and freely given donations from our readers. As of the 1st of April, if needed, I will open ifish to contributions for a one month annual fund raising event. During this time, there are many contests and give aways from our sponsors that benefit the drive. The people who wish and can afford to donate may, and it is greatly appreciated! The people who cannot afford to, or are otherwise contrary to the idea are at absolutely no obligation to pay. You may freely use ifish.net as long as I can afford the time and maintenance fees to run it! When you donate, unless you request not, you will be listed on the honors page, where people who support ifish may be listed if they so desire. The money from donations will be used to keep ifish running at a good clip, which requires server upgrades and fine tuning for our software. It will also be used to pay for
I would also love to see ifish.net support activities, such as ramp upkeeps, river clean ups and occasional ifish parties, including funding for the annual fishstock ifish party! If you feel ifish.net is worthy of your hard earned dollars and you feel like helping, this is your chance! Use the pay pal icon above, or send any donations to: ifish.net Remember, if you haven't gotten a community made decal yet, (Credit to ZaQ and others...) Remember that ifish.net is not a legal non profit site, (501-3c) so your donations are not tax deductable. Thank you very much! Jennie Logsdon Martin | ||
