Hello All:

In need of some advice. I recently acquired a 1995 Suzuki 9.9 oil injected motor that hasn't run for a while. I went thru the carburetor and now she runs like a champ, but can't seem to get the water to pump thru it. Took the lower unit apart and blew everything out, checked the water pump impeller and looks like new, still can't seem to get any water to pump thru it. Any suggestions? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

water outlet clear?
I'm not familiar with Suzuki but I've had bugs crawl up inside the water discharge hose, and make nests, on my Hondas 8hp and 15hp and plug them up.

doesn't sound like it's overheating so the water pump must be working, like the above statement, try clearing out the whole pee hole assembly

I bought a '92 suzuki 8hp that wouldn't pump H2O. The impeller looked OK, but I replaced it anyways as the motor had sat a while. New impeller made all the difference in the world, also have had to ream out the pee hole with a piece of wire, but now it works fine.
If yours is like mine you will appreciate the oil injection system, my motor uses very little oil.

Idahoguy,

I have a 95 8hp Suzuki 2 stroke and if you are looking for the proverbial pee stream for the water discharge you are not going to find it. At least on mine the water discharge is through the exhaust. Keep an eye on the motor exhaust and see if you have water mixed in with it; if so, your pumping coolant.
