ok i seem to find any chowder recipes on so any one have any good recipes they care to share
There are hundreds of chowder recipes out there and it is difficult to say which one is best. If you had the recipe for Mo's chowder at Newport or Spirt Mountains chowder recipe you would have good chowder. You can put clam chowder in your search, and come up with hundreds of recipes. There is a eastern version that is red chowder and has tomatoes in it that is different than the version you find in this part of the world. Anyway I won't attempt to say which is the best. I like them all.

Here's one I like, A.F. This isn't for someone on one of those "Slim-Fast" diets!
4 slices raw smoked bacon
1 lb chopped cooked clams (save the juice)
2 cups cooked cubed potatoes (not mushy)
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 medium carrot diced
2 table spoons flour
3 cups light cream
1 tablespoon salt or to taste (you can add more later)
Plenty of fresh ground black pepper
1/3 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1 tablespoon of butter
Sautee bacon in a pan until crisp, remove, crumble and set aside. Sautee onion and carrots in bacon grease until tender and set aside. In a small bowl gradually stir cream into flour until blended.
Put clams, spices, and vegetables into a pan and bring to a gentle boil. Add the cream mixture, put the butter on top and again heat, adding clam juice a little at a time until you get the consistency you like. You don't want to bring this to a major boil! When the butter on top is melted, and the chowder is steaming, it's done. Serve with the crumpled bacon on top with fresh oyster crackers.
