I have a dual axle baker trailer with surge brakes and the trailer clunks every time I take off from a dead stop. I have put a new actuator, etc. on it and it still occurs. Only occurs when I accelerate from a dead stop. Any ideas on how to fix the problem from you trailer pros?

Thanks in advance,

TD

mine does the same thing, my brakes are out of adjustment and allowing the actuator to push to far in when i stop and when i take off i`m just pulling the slack out and it clunks. mine are 5 years old and going to replace them this winter.

Clint..Adjust your brakes up, and then check your fluid level in your resevoir.

Also make sure the problem is not in the hitch ball (e.g. loose bolt, or the little flapper that locks down on the ball), or slack in the receiver componets.

What KC said......I thought I had a serious problem....It wound up to be a little slack in my reciever.
