Hello, I've recently started to fly fish and I'm trying to find some good rivers \ streams \ creeks that are within a hours driver from Portland to fish for Trout. I've gone up to the lake around Mt Hood but I really like to fish in creeks or streams.

I'm kind of looking for a place I can run off to after work for about 3 hours and fish for Trout.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I have enjoyed the upper Clackamas and the Collawash. Both offer good fishing, maybe only fair catching. Sometimes just getting on the river after work is all it takes!

Agree on the clack and esp. the collawash. another less pressured but fun river to fish is the mollala. wagon wheel and knights bridge in canby are good access points down lower. anyplace above the first logging bridge outside of the town of mollala is better. check the regs. steelhead are throughout the system in low numbers all winter.
