I have a 2003 20' thunderjet luxor outboard. It has a 90 hp merc 4 stk outboard. I tseems to burn quite a bit of fuel for a smaller ob ( about 5 gals an hour) I run it at about 4200 rpms. I replaced the stock prop with a pt 4 blade stainless prop to see if I could'nt get better fuel economy and it did'nt seem to make much difference. Any suggestions would be welcomed.
Sounds about right, at WOT (wide open throttle) that motor should burn around 8-10 gallons per hour.

that sounds about right, I have heard that at wot you should expect about 10% of your motors hp to be your fuel consumption per hour. i wonder if the four blade prop is less efficient than the three blade I replaced. I use a stainless prop due to the wood debris on the reservoir where I do most of my fishing.
