At church last Sunday we were honored by guest speakers Aaron and Diane Lincoln. The Lincolns are missionaries with the CMF, who have been working in England since 1993 helping to start new churches.

I was really surprised to learn that 93% of English people do not attend any church. This means that the remaining 7% are divided between all other religious faiths.

I've never been to England, but always thought of them as a strongly rooted primarily Christian nation, the one that brought many of the founding values to America.

The Lincolns have been successful in helping start two new churches in England, while spreading the word of our Lord.

Please pray with our congregation for the continued success of these ministers in their mission to renew God's message in England. :flowered:

I will pray!
It is interesting(albeit sad) how the demographics have changed over the years. It is not just England and France or Germany and........the USA.
However, there are bright spots ...Like S Korea and other countries who are sending missionaries out. Even to here where we despartely need voices for the Lord.

Here’s some food for thought from a recent Barna Poll of regular church attendees including lay leaders in “Bible-based” churches in America (this survey included all the major Protestant and well as the Catholic Church). The problem is much deeper than the unchurched if the churched are having challenges with basic essential Christian principles. Indeed cause for prayer.

A majority (58%) said the Bible teaches that "God helps those who help themselves"

Four out of every ten (39%) believe there is no such thing as Satan

Four out of every ten (43%) believe there is no such thing as the Holy Spirit

One-third (33%) asserted that Jesus Christ never had a physical resurrection

One out of every four (25%) agreed that it doesn't matter what faith you follow because all faith groups teach the same lessons

One out of every five (22%) agreed that all people will experience the same outcomes after death, regardless of their religious beliefs

One out of every five (20%) said there are some sins a person can commit that cannot be forgiven

One out of every five (19%) believe that Jesus Christ committed sins when He was on earth.

Glad I don't fit any of those.
