I have a T8 on the back of my Custom Weld and thought I had a bad primer bulb. (would not pull fuel without working at it forever. Replaced the bulb with a new one (checked it to see the check valve was holding) and it acts the same way? Is this common? Does it have to do with how far it pulls fuel? Have used outboards in the past and never seen one take this long to prime. :help:

Mine primes after about 4 squeezes and is good all day. Check your hose connections at the motor and tank for air leaks

Motor seems ok.... Tank is another story it uses the quick couopler that looks like and air hose but smaller at the transom. Anyone know it it uses a o-ring?

I use the T-8 plumbed to my main tank and the only problem I've encountered was replacing my water seperator filter and not filling the new filter with gas prior to spinning it on. That was alot of squeezing! After a long while, I wised up and poured some gas into the filter.

Just solved a similar problem with my honda kicker. I replaced the quick connect with a new one. This one took a while to prime at first, then would die after a long minute or two if I didn't give it a little bulb squeeze every so often. Works great now. Air leak.

You may have figured this out already but it sounds like you need an anti syphon valve installed in your water fuel sep. on your kicker line comming out of the water fuel sep. I have had to install these on many boats and this should repair the issue. Stay away from aluminum anti syphon valves. OMC sells a brass one, brass will work much better and last much longer.
