Has anyone ever attempted to change their own power head on a larger Merc motor? It does not look that difficult but....???

I have replaced the powerhead on a 70hp merc and it wasn't too difficult. I bought a repair manual and followed step by step. The motor was a 1984 model so i don't know if they are more difficult now, i would imagine that the newer the motor, the more complex it gets.
