I have been fishin most evenings with senko's rigged "wacky" i think is the official term but every time I get a good sized one on I loose my senko.
Is there a better way to rig it?

I have doin some online lookups and anyother way I rig it I dont catch squat.

BTW way I have been doing very well, with some good size small mouth. Willy above I5 before Champoeg, pumpkin and black 4" senko and Gulp baby fish have been great.

Go get some real small O rings that will fit tightly around the baits, slide the O ring onto the bait. and place your hook between the o ring and senko.

Try Texas Rigging your senko and adding some split shot if you need it. That has worked well for me.

like bassin said, O rings are good. But something better are those shrink tubes used for electronics, the clear kind. I'm sure you can find the perfect size at Home Depot. Just make sure you bring a lighter with you to shrink it onto the senko. Oh, and if the senko starts to tear, you can also use the lighter to "glue" the senko back.

I'm losing a fair amount of senkos too so I'm interested in this topic. Do you place the hook through the ring towards the top of the worm so the worm is just hanging off the bottom side of the hook? Or do you place the hook through the ring at the bottom of the worm so it looks like its inside the bend of the hook? Does it matter?

There are stuff like this made just for wacky rigging. But like I said in my post above, you can just use regular shrink tubes. I think it will hold a lot better than an o-ring, plus if you can find the clear shrink tubes it looks a lot better.
And here's a picture of what it would look like after rigging it>

Thanks for all the help.

Went out last night with an ol piece os shrink tuube I found in the shop.
Worked great! Smallies loved it, and I am a big fin since it now doesnt cost me 5 bucks a day for lost gear.
Thanks again!

"What is the prefered retrieve for wacky rigged senko?"

Most hits come on the fall, so it's either a drop-shot show or a slow lift, drop, drag. Another option is a rapid surface retrieve so that it acts like the buzzbait from ****. If the bass doesn't hook up when it strikes, stop and let it drop; the smallie will often attack again. Maybe he thinks that he's stunned it or he's ticked that he missed. I've had them often do this with crankbaits and have witnessed similar behavior with schools of shad ie. a slashing attack to stun then circling back for the kill.
