Just for fun we stopped by Towne lake to check it out: lots of Bass sign. the nephew lured a bunch of spooky 10 inchers in close with a muddler, but we couldnt get them to bite. We always pick the wrong time of the day too!! Hot, Clear. Mid day.....flushed a few from the lily pads..what a surprise! Suggestions? Were stumped. Is this a morning/evening game?
thanks

cicadas seem to work well for bass from what I've been told. I don't fly fish so this isn't from personal experience

A Senko is a fly when you tie it on.

My preference for flies (when i flyfished 3 or 4 years ago) was a small popper in a black and white fashion. I think they imitated skim flies back in Florida or spiders. They were about dime size but have cought 2#ers on em before.
