Well, my buddy Russ has heard from Captian Scott in Louisinia and said his family is safe but they lost their home on S. Lake Pontchartrain. Thats all I know. We fish with Ct. Scott every spring out of Venice, LA. and I pray that he got his boats out of there as well.
Venice most likely, no longer exists as we know it given the eye of the storm passed directly over it when 1st landfall was made. This is so sad......
I can't imagine what those fine people are going through right now. I pray for all the wonderful people in that region who have touched my life and the rest of that region and may God Bless each & every one of those fine people and aid them in their recovery....

Terry, I've been thinking of you and your family or friends down there and will continue to include them in my prayers. The disaster and loss can't be understated. What a horrible tragedy.
Praying for them,

Very few people thought at the outset that Katrina would surpass Camille as the deadliest and most destructive hurricane in U.S. history.
My heart and prayers go out to all the families, and those trying to help them, to get through this terrible ordeal.

I heard back from Ct. Scott earlier in the evening via email.
He is safe as is his family as they got out of the N.O. area before the storm hit but his life has changed forever and he says he doesn't even begin to know if his life as he once knew it will ever go back to what it was. His house is gone and Venice has been blown to pieces.
This is very touching as he is a good man with a wonderful family as are allot of the people in the Venice community.
I saw a picture of Venice from an aerial shot and as I suspected, it is gone :depressed:
I just pray that God will assist them in putting their lives back together somehow and see the day when there are calmer seas and bountiful catches. These are fine people who need our help along with our prayers....

Our family has been praying as well. I know God brings many miracles out of what at first appear to be unmitigated disasters. I cant help but think that the storm has opened a lot of oppertunity for God to create miracles and do His work in peoples lives. Both those people who lost so much in the storm and those people who are willing to give so much for the recovery. The story this morning of the city of Houston, Texas taking so many refugees in and making plans to provide for their health, education, housing, food, etc - for as long as it takes - really touched me. Americans will answer the call. Praise God! :flowered:

This disaster has hit us all. Like UG has said God will be glorified in many ways as a result of changed lives and experiences. Right now it is hard to see good but he will be glorified.

Terry, prayers and thoughts to your friends there.
It's so beyond comprehension down there. I feel like I should be there to help. We don't know how lucky we are to be up here and safe.
Hang in there,
Brad
Ill include your friends in my prayers Terry.
