Hagen,
Nice buckets! I just got back from a week at Tahkenitch and was only able to scrounge up 20-25fish w/ biggest a tad over 2.5lb and I thought it looked bigger that that.

When were you there? PM me w/ any hints. Will never fish tournys so nothing to worry about from me there. I love the lake, this was our 3rd year camping there. After a year of dreaming about my strategy, the first morning I headed straight up the south arm to the creek channel and pads only to find the weed had all but choked it up. Threw some top water and hopped a big senko across the pads. Nothing. Fished some senko in the channel, nothing. Spinner baits along the pad edge, nothing. Can back to the lake and fished in and around the deep timber... 4" Watermelon/Char lami senko and POW and few small fish all under 10". Second morning I fished the south shore from the CG dock up to the second boathouse. Did the best in the ditch where the old CG dock used to be. Tried hopping that same 4" laminate Senko across the pads mixed in the reeds just off the ditch. A HUGE FISH EXPLODES on it but misses. I toss it back 2 more times, nothing. Picked up a couple maybe a half pound in there and nothing but dinks up the south bank to the (Stay the "H" out of the cove) boat house. Day three I fished the timber on the north bank, nothing there but dinky perch. Day four I took off and took the family to the south jetty to play in the sand but before we headed out I ran over to that cove inside the trussel bridge past the island. NOTHING! How can that be?!?! Day five we were fogged in and it lifted around 7am, so went out w/ my 2 little girls for a hour before we had to pack. Fished the ditch again and was not having any luck, so decided to switch to a merthiolite 3" senko and smaller size 1 hook. Figured a 180 degree switch was in order, they were ignoring all else...finally landed a decent 2.5lb fish.
Almost lost it to a weed ball.
Time to go pack to leave.

Any advise?? I threw cranks a little but wasn't seeming to get hit.

Has anyone ever packed into 3-Mile Lake from Tak-campground to fish it? It's probably my favorite camping spot on the coast, and I have to figure there's fish in there...

Matty...I have caught perch and some nice cutthroat up to 17" at Threemile. We walk in from Sparrow Rd. though. I have never been there from Tach.

How far is the walk in from Sparrow Cr. Rd.? I understand it's a bit shorter than from the campground...
