A group of Christian businessmen have entered the video market with some Biblical type video games.
All the adventure and graphics of games like Grand Theft Auto, without the negativity and blood and gore.
Will the kids play them? Some will, I hope alot will at least give them a chance.
Let's let people decide what they like instead of letting Market Street dictate what they should like.
Many thought Christian rock music wouldn't survive, but it's still alive and well! :flowered:
I am an old coot ,guess what I think of Christian Rock.

I would be excited to try some christian video games. My husband is into alot of violent games and I don't go for it. I like ones like wheel of fortune and jeopardy. ON the other hand with CHRISTIAN ROCK (as so to DAB) if you can understand what they are saying, and have an ear for the type of music, then it is great, especially when giving a christian rock cd to someone who only listens to ozzy osburn and planting a small seed in there life. it works for the generation these days but as for me, anything thing that is christian music is what I like to listen to. Thank God for Christian Entertainment!!!

It would be nice to see some video games that are not violent and that are good for our kids eyes. I have a son that loves to play video games. This would be a great thing for the video game era. Some parents let there children watch anything that is on TV. I try really hard to block what my son watches and plays on his video games. I know that for my slef that God convicts each person on what he wants them to be convicted of. For example if one person has no problem watching Zombie movies but there friend does. I would not take that friend to that type of movie. It is about not being a stumbling block to any one. I have learned that God convicts myheart of certian things and convicts others of certain things. I try really hard to keep Daniel away from things that bother him and bother me. There are cartoons that I do not allow Daniel to watch at all but others I do. I explain to him that these are cartoons and we do not do what cartoons do because they are not real at all. He understands more than I think he does. I thank God that having a child has helped me to be more desering in my life.
I love Christian Rock music and I agree with FishinGrl22 that if Christian Rock can be used for the Gospel to bring people to the loving knowledge and saving grace of Jesus Christ let it happen. Not all children, teen and young adults want to listen to old time christian music they want to hear it in the music types they like. If it is in punk music, rock, jazz, hip hop, pop etc. etc. etc. if God leads it and they play because they want other people to know the joy of the Lord and that he saves. Then God will use it for the good of the Kingdom. I personaly like old time Christian music because I was raised listening to it but it is not my favorit pick. People like diffrent styls of music then here should be diffrent styls of Christian music.

You are old, aren't ya  J/K :flowered:
I'm only 25 and really not a big fan of Christian Rock myself, but that's the only way to get through to some people is through the type of music they listen to. I've actually frowned upon some of it, and then gone back and read the words aloud. There are some powerful messages in some of the songs. Granted, you can't understand them sometimes   but oh well

I'm a big fan of organ music and Gregorian Chant myself, but some of the Christian rock is okay. Some is pretty bad.
As far as video games go, there are plenty of good alternatives if you know where to look. Our younger kids enjoy a Veggie Tales game called "The Secret of Veggie Island". For our older kids, there does seem to be a dearth of choices. Racing games are pretty neutral. I reluctantly allowed my oldest to have the Star Wars PC games. While they are violent, there is a bit of morality to be learned from them, and they involve very involved story lines and problem solving. Those who go to the Dark Side suffer the consequences. Drawing the light saber is not always the solution. And it becomes the duty of the strong to protect the weak. While not ideal, it does put the use of violence into perspective. And quite frankly, the world it creates is quite similar to that of Third World countries where large scale violence is a problem, social institutions are not strong, and it actually is the duty of the strong to protect the weak using force of arms. The whole Force thing going on in those games is pretty stupid. I can imagine many Christians calling it either pagan, witchcraft, occult, or New Age, and I could respect that opinion entirely, but I think the vast majority of adolescents would recognize it for the fiction that it is. I think a kid would have to already have a pre-existing disorder to take the whole Force thing seriously. A steady diet of it could certainly be avoided, but as an occasional diversion, it doesn't seem bad. That said, Paul said in first Corinthians "12 "All things are lawful for me," but not all things are helpful. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be enslaved by anything."
Video games hit the same centers in the brain that are stimulated by gambling, and one can be just as enslaved by these games, regardless of the content, as by gambling.
Christian content in a game doesn't preclude the neuropsychological feedback that enslaves people in a way similar to gambling, so even if there is good content, caution should still be exercised.
