Heading out later this afternoon to fish above the falls in Oregon City. Going to put in on the west ramp just above the falls. Just wondering if anyone has any tips in that area. I usually fish some below, but wanted to try something new. Still kind of new to bass fishing, but did alot when i was young with worms..Fished the rock island area when i was young from bank. Anyone have any suggestions? Will bring some 3" and 4" senkos and a few crank baits. Will post results after my trip tommoro morning. Thanks!

My only tip is: When you are fishing in a boat above the falls, stay ABOVE the falls.

Well even know no one helped me out...its ok... here is a quick report...And yes i did stay above the falls...there is always a smart a## is the crowd..lol..
Went out around 7..fished a 4" senko carolina style. Lost a real nice one after a battle, never seen it. Had a few other takes that i didnt hook. But the weather was nice and it was a very nice evening spend on the boat with my girlfriend. She casted a crank bait but didnt hook any. But thats what learning a new area is all about. Trial and error. I did stray into a cove where a water skier was going through a bunch of bouys set up in a course. There was a boat at the begining that yelled at me when i went past. But i seen the course set up and quickly turned around. Then drove over to his boat and told him i didnt realize that was a water skiing course. I told him i didnt mean to get him all riled up and he quickly calmed down while the other guy in the boat was laughing... well hope to get with some of you guys soon so see how local bass fishing is really done!

I'm glad you had a nice time and that you stayed above the falls. That was the first time anyone has called me smart since I married my beautiful wife. People still wonder why she married me.

Hey guys. I really really would like to go and take someone. But i have my 5 year old son that day. I could go, but it would be very hard to make it at 6 AM. Are you guys going to be on a VHS radio station? I could come out later and meet some of you.
One a side note. Yesterday i fished below the falls in the afternoon/evening with a bright deep diving crank bait. Caught one dink, one nice one about 1.5lbs. Lost another one at the boat same size. And lost a few others that felt nice. Fished up by the falls, then down by Yuka island, just out from the clackamas. I will go to Silver for the ifish meet and fish up there. And will have an open seat or two there. Let me know if you guys will be on a channel on saturday when fishing the willy. Thanks!
