I was making a trip to Utah this week so we stopped at Huntington Monday morning for some crappie fishing. My favorite Crappie hole was no good so I did some more exploring, all I caught was a 5 lb. diseased Channel cat and some Smallmouths, all on crappie jigs. Not one Crappie. All I wanted was one stinking crappie! On the way back we stopped at the Plush store to ask about the Warner Valley lakes. (I told my wife it was on the way) The Barkeep told me that they were catching a few out of Crump, but it was hit and miss and it took a boat to get to the fish. So I didn't even try to fish there. Jeez, I drove 1500 miles and didn't catch a single Crappie. It is a good thing I had an important reason to go to Utah or it would have been a wasted trip.
