I have posted in the other forums but not in here, so I am not sure if I require a "first time story". Please let me know if I do. I am stationed down in San Antonio, Texas and a couple days ago took my oldest daughter out for a little bass fishing. What a nice surprise to catch a few of them. My daughter was pretty happy with the "whopper" she hooked into. Needless to say we are planning our next trip real soon. All I had was a camera phone so it does not do any justice to their size... I swear a couple were lunkers!!!

Looks like you had a great day with your daughter, and that it more important than the size of the fish!!! I can't wait until my daughter is a little older, so she can go fishing with dad. I know it might sound lame, but enjoy these times while your daughter still wants to go fishing with dad.

Fishlipper,

That ain't lame. Fishing isn't just about the fish, it about the time to be had and the memories to be made. Actually that sounded lame.

Thank you all for the nice comments. It was a great day for me and her.The time together with a bonus of catching some great fish.We have been down here for two years now and really miss fishing for sturgeon and salmon. This has been a nice change fishing for bass and catfish down here, but we both can't wait for a vacation back up there and get back on the big river for some action. Again thanks for the comments and we will post more after our next trip.

Sandz, I forgot to upload this yesterday. We were using these jigs as well as plastic worms. The jigs were all they would hit and it didn't seem to matter what color.... anything else we tried didn't work.
