A friend of mine just asked me to go fishing in somerset park in tigard with him. I was just wondering what kind of fish and fishing to expect. He gave me no details about the place just where it is. Is it a river, a creek, or a pond or lake. Any info is greatly appreciated. :help:

Well ya got me confused. The only Somerset Park I know of is in Beaverton north of Hwy26 at corner of Somerset & Parkview and I don't think it has any water to fish. I think he means some other park. Perhaps Summerlake Park in Tigard??? But either way, trout or bass will be your target species. So have some tackle for each on hand.

WT,
Your right it was called summerlake park, my friend and I fished from 7 till dark and managed a few fish.
In the small creek there (really more of a canal) we could see carp swimming all around. We caught several small ones and then a big one (10-15lbs) came and scared all the others away. I threw a doughball on my ultralite to him, he took, and snap, my line broke. Other than that we caught about 10 bullheads each, some bluegills, and I caught a small bass.
Any way it was a fun night and we plan to go again this week and stay longer.
