I picked up a new to me, used waterready p. boat from Stoneflyguy and need to take it for a float. Steelheader 86 said he may go. In the past I hinted at a float so is there any interest? It's suppose to be hot so it would be nice to be on the river.
Last year, about this time I got a nice 14# sh.
Post here if you are interested and we can talk time.
P. boat or drift boat would work as the water flow has been about 2000 cfs.

Wish I could. I have to work OT on Thursday :depressed:. Haven't fished the NFL in many years but want to try it again. Doing any floats next month when the silvers start showing?
BTW, just how does the dog figure into summer steelheading? Is he trained as a pointer?

Gizmo, I'm up for a float and I could take my drift boat and provide a seat for someone of bring my other pontoon. I can't do it Thurs. because my kids have their cows at the Cowlitz CO. Fair this week but next week or weekend and I'm in. I still have to get that chain saw to you.The Cowlitz is picking up too. I caught a little steelhead there Sat. morning and a couple of nice cutthroat. Let's make a float trip and just do it sometime. All of these OR. ifishers do it let's get som WA ifishers together.

I knew it was short notice. So trip is off.
Unfortunately, next week I will not be able to float as I will be at B10 with a couple of nice Ifishers.
So when I get back, lets plan a trip.
SF, Gizmo, the dog figures into the program. If not for him, I would not have the need for the larger p. boat. He goes with me and provides many hours of enjoyment as he loves the water and to fish. Those opposed to fishing when a dog is present probably should not plan on going if they feel the dog is a bother. For that matter, any of you guys that have a dog and want to go, we should make this a trip with them. If you don't have a dog, take Stew with you, he's uglier and more vicious than any two pit bulls...
No,on second thought, he whines too much and you will not have a good time...

The dog is not the problem...it's the owner  In fact I suggest just taking the dog and leaving Walt behind!!!!! He (the dog) won't talk incessantly and is a better fisherman :jester:

Ha! I knew mentioning the dog would stir the pot. More fun than poking sticks into anthills!!!
Giz, I own a lab and they are great dogs. Hopefully I'll get to fish with you two one of these days.

Would a Buck's Aline (6' pontoons/6' oars) survive the NF Lewis? I have not used it on moving waters, just lakes. It is not rated for moving water. Anybody have any ideas or experience?

The N.F. is pretty easy with no technical water. It does flow and there are jet boats.
I don't know about your boat, but it would depend on your experience and comfort level.
