When I get the 4.3 buttoned back up and before I drain the oil, again, to help clean out the antifreeze in the oil system, does any one have opinions on a Gunk type product for flushing the engine. I recall it is a petrolium distilate and can loosen other stuff and or degrade the new oil. Good idea or bad??? Thanks.

I've heard transmission fluid works good, just don't
run it for a long time.It breaks things loose and
then plugs the filter. just keep an eye on the oil :bigshock:

As a retired marine mech. Here is how I treated an engine when anti-freeze was introduced into the oil.
Drain oil and remove filter.
Make needed gasket repair.
Replace oil filter
add 4 quarts 30 weight oil and one quart engine flush.
Run engine for ten minutes, checking for leaks.
After engine runs and warms up, drain oil and remove fliter.
Add 5 quarts 30 wt oil and new filter
Run engine for twenty hours and Change oil an filter .
Hope this helps
