I am picking up the new boat next monday...and also picking up a whole lot of other stuff!
So how much rope do I need behind the pump so no one takes it in the face?

What kind of pump and motor? What kind of boat? Probably up to 75' with removable sections should work.

I don't know about skiing, but tubing behind my thunderjet w/ 75' of rope amounted to a lot of water right in the kisser. Was really funny the first time my wife got on it, well until she got back in the boat anyway. I would suggest 100'.
I suggest 75 for tubing. Be ready to go longer for skiing. A segmented ski rope attached to a short section will help with the tuning to the right length.
