I have a 15 Smoker Craft SS which has a small covered bow area with no supports underneath it. I bought a cleat to tie the anchor rope to. Should I mount the cleat on the center of the aluminum deck with fender washers? There really seems to be nowhere else to put it. What do you suggest? Any thoughts much apreciated.

Thanks

You could get a piece of scrap aluminum maybe 3/16" thick 4"x4" and put it on the bottom of the bow instead of the washers to help distribute the force. Parkrose hardware always has small pieces you can buy.

What Gundog said.... I did the same thing with my 19' window boat when I installed my big anchor on the bow. Used a quarter inch piece of aluminum diamond plate. Plenty beefy..... Best of luck with it.
