Need Merc 9.9 help

Greeting to all,

Have a friend who has a 2003 9.9Hp Merc Kicker motor. He is doing a tune up and wants to know what spark plug to use and what the proper plug gap is. Hope there is someone out there who could answer this question for me....

I know this should be a question that I should be able to answer myself, given my profession and all, but.......Somehow I thought all sparkplugs were pre-gapped out of the box. Please someone set me straight if I am confused.

Plugs aren't pre-gapped out of the box, rattling around in the box will change the gap, however NGK's come with a cardboard tube over the threads to keep that from happening.

Plug type, gap and valve clearances are on the timing belt cover under the cowling on my '01 9.9, DPR6EA-9, you can get them at Baxters Auto @ $1.79 each.
