Recently purchased a boat and trailer but I don't want to go far without a mounted spare tire. I located one at a boat shop and they wanted $179! Any ideas on where I could locate a reasonably priced preferably used one?
Thanks,
Mike

Keep an eye on craigslist:

There is a basically brand new 15" spare for $85 on there. I realize it is the wrong size, but it is just an example of what is out there.

Call the local tire shops. I found mine at Americas Tire and paid $40.00! Someone waned fancy rims I guess. It is a different rim pattern but what Do I care!
I went to Les Schwab's, they had a matching rim for my EZ-Loader and I just bought a car tire of the proper size and weight rating as the spare. The whole cost was about $60.00, I figured (so did they) the short time driving 'till I got the trailer tire fixed wouldn't be a problem.

I have an older Bass Tracker spare that might work. It says BT-13 on it, so it's likely a 13" tire, but seems bigger than that. It's on a white painted mag wheel that is a five holer. The tire is old and has some checking on it, tread is never used condition. It's yours for free if you want it. If your at all interested I will send you a picture and the load rating and such. Just PM me.

Thanks for your help!
Got a used wheel and an inexpensive tire from Les Schwab's for a total of $55. A spare shouldn't be a big deal but I didn't feel comfortable traveling very far from home base without one. Now I'm cut free to roam.
