Hello friends
I am looking at a Bimini 3 bow top, probley from Cabela's, for my 15 Alaskan SS and have the choice of a 6 foot long top that will cover both rear & middle seats with 6 inches to spare on each end. Or a 8 foot long 4 bow top which would leave me about 18 inches extra on each end. I know from experience that rain seldom falls straight down. Obviously the longer top would seem better. Problem is that it comes in only 35 or 54 inch height. 35 would only allow me maybe 2 inches of hat clearance and I am guessing the taller top would be less effective and possibly catch more wind? This is possibly one of those decisions I have given too much thought to but I want the right top. What are your opinions? Thanks in advance. BLIND BOBBER

8' won't leave ya much fishing room in the stern.

My top is 56" from the floor and it's about right(for me) when I'm inside it but I run a tiller and I need to see over it.

I've got a few pictures of full tops that are on Smokers if ya need to see them.

Not sure what you mean here but you said you have less space at ends with a 6 footer than a 8 footer?

So do you all think two inches hat to roof clearance is enough? Will a taller top catch more air? Other draw bzbacks? What say you?
Thanks

I will show you scars on my hands from setting the hook on low tops. My hands say not enough. Thats not enough room to move quickly in case of emergency
