My 95 15 Alaskan SS aluminum has a plywood floor. Currently the rear tiller operator (me) seat is a swivel mounted on an aluminum box which is open on one side and the fuel tank slides in there. I am considering moving the fuel tank up front and putting in a pedastal seat that I can raise and lower. Is mounting a pedastal base as simple as six or eight wood screws into the floor or is there more to it? My other two box seats have what looks like bedestal mounting spots on the floor. The rear does not have this.

I'd recomend using a backing plate and through bolts.

You might do some experimenting first. When I did that to my Alaskan (moned gas up front)the motor wouldnt start very well.I talked to a guy on the river that had same boat and he had done the same thing and had starting trouble also. I moved tank back and all is fine again
