I spoke with a person this weak about disabling the oil injection on my big motor and just mixing the oil in the tank myself. Any opinions on this. This also would mean using a tank for my kicker or going to a two stroke kicker. I would be interested in hearing theories on these two dilemas. The boat is a 20' Trophy with a 150 Merc. Scott

Why would anyone want to disable their oil injection? The mix is so much more precise than you could ever get by mixing yourself. On of the probelems we experienced with a fleet of boats which did not have oil injection was constantly fouled plugs. Oil does not alwsy mix evenly in the tank. Portable tanks are one thing but built in tanks, I think will cause you problems.

The person I spoke with was a marine mech. in Newport, I was asking him about the motor smoking so much(mixing to much oil). He was quite fond of disabling the oil injection due to possible injection failure and the resulting burnt up engine. Thanks for your input. Scott
