Mine came with a ss prop, I was told an aluminum would twist do to the gearing coming out of the hole. anybody experience this! I know for a fact a yamaha 300 will do it! I would love to change to an alum if i could!

I just changed from aluminum to SS and can't see going back. Why are you jonesing for an aluminum prop?

I was told the same thing once, but checked it out a found the SS has a spline to absorb shock to the lower unit. I believe all props have splines for this purpose..... don't they?? :eek:

My SS prop has a sacrificial inner hub designed to protect the drive train. I kept the aluminum as a spare.

Went to ampro to get dings removed from ss prop and was told about the inner hub, so thats, cool! thanks guys, will pick up an alum for spare
