Oil filter changing....(how often)

I have a 2001 25hp 4stroke Yamaha motor and was wondering how often I should be changing my oil filter? Thanks :cheers:

OK, this is either a really stupid question and nobody wants to help :shrug: Or no one changes there oil filters in there motors :whazzup: I appologize if this is a dumb question to ask on a boat and Motor Tech board :rolleyes:

I don't know, this might be a dumb question, SORRY! but, usually the manual says everything on the recommended time and amounts of maintanence is needed for the engine. Should, but how should I know? My dad only lets me take care of the small hondas! :help:

Everytime you change the oil.

I am not sure about your motor but my main motor Yam 150 I plan on changing oil & filter every 100 hours or 1 year. The kicker motor with no filter every 50 hours or 1 year this was suggested to me on here due to the fact it has no filter.

Thanks for the input. My manual says nothing about changing the oil filter, but it talkes plenty about changing the oil every 100 hours. So in that case for me its been aobout every 4-6 months between oil changes. Thanks again.
