I was thinking of using Castrol full syntheic 2 cycle in my 200 EFI Mercury instead of the Quicksilver that I have been using. Is there any downside to doing this other than price? Has anyone used this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Haven't used it, but I do know that, for cars at least, if you run synthetic oil it is recommended that you stay with it, ie don't switch back to regular. Not sure if this applies to 2-stroke outboards, but if it does you will then have to use the more expensive oil.
