Either that or I really suck! I saw a beautiful large mouth (8 lbs?) taken out on Father's day but I can't seem to hook a damn thing! I've been using Senkos but any tips for this novice would be appreciated! The good news is that my 4 year old boy has been decimating(SP?)the perch population. At 4 he is already bragging how he's caught soooooo many while dad has got none! Zip, zero, nada. He keeps asking me when I'm going to catch a big one like that other guy. My unfortunate response is to tell him "probably about the same time you're able to cast!"

   Hang in there Clyde! Mine is 10 now and casting on his own. It definetly helps your catching when your not casting, baiting, untangling and tying nots for the kids.

Keep your spirits up, sometimes hagg just SHUTS OFF randomly then u go back a day later and they are slaughtering them... It is by far the wierdest body of water ive fished. Maybe us 2 losers should go out there and just concentrate on bass some time and see if we cant just hook a few?

I'll provide a report tomorrow. I too have been nailing only dinks with an occasional 12"+
Going to slow bounce some "Banjo Minnows" this afternoon and tomorrow morning. I'm normally exclusive to Senkos......but after seeing the latest record fish combined with poor payouts - thought it would be a good time to switch out.
Funny thing - these Banjo Minnows were given to me by a fella who saw a conmmercial for them - complete with how-to video - and he bought them. This oughta be interesting because they look, act, and feel like big Super Flukes.
Enough rambling from me - hang in there! I'll post a report tomorrow!

A buddy and I went last night for a few hours and only got 2 bass, mine on topwater and his on a Senko. Neither were big enough to brag about. Funny thing happened though. I caught mine on a Pop-r by boat ramp A and as I was reeling in he ran for cover under the dock. He got stuck under there and I ended up pulling the lure out of his mouth. Ticked off, I started reeling in and within two seconds a fish darts out from under the dock and grabs the lure practically at my feet! I don't know if it was the same fish or another one, but it was fun to watch. It's almost startling to see how fast they are!
Most of my favorite spots from last fall are inaccessible now (bank fishing), so I'm gonna have to learn the lake all over again.
