Doesn't GI Joe's have a bunch of maps, or is that just trails and such?

you can buy a river cruising atlas, i believe it's around 40 bucks, detailem maps of the entire system. you dan get them at fishermans and maybe at joes

the river atlas is the way to go. It will save tons of cash in props so the 40 bucks is minimal. Every time I pull a boat of the rocks and they try to give me money I tell them to save it and go buy the atlas.

The altas' are well worth the money. Just wait for a 20% off coupon in the paper. Rewelding a prop will run you ~$40, having a skeg welded back on about the same, a new lower unit..... you don't want to know!!
I've not seen a good atlas of the Snake, perhaps Maptech.com can be of use there. At least you can get something printed and in your pocket!! Paper is cheap, props aren't! Last year we watched 2 or 3 boats either tear off a skag or lower unit up around Rock Island on the Wille up from West Linn. Nasty area to be if you haven't looked at a map.
Good advice guys,

I am more looking for fishing holes and just getting the feel of the river without having to run the whole thing.
Dont usually have to much problem in shallow water with my jet

When you do have a problem with a jet , like stuck on a sand bar in the dark while catfishing , it is a world of hurt . It only happened once and that was enough to have a lot of memory's , that i could do without thank you .
I'm pretty sure I have seen them at Fisherman's Marine at Delta Park. If not, check Boater's World. They have a wealth of charts.
