Greets Portland Hawg Anglers,

Wanted to put in my report for the past week (week before seemed to put off fishing due to weather front). Sorry I'm posting multiple reports in one post but.....just don't have the time to seperate them. Been out slapping water the past four days....my gear is about gone and my wife is bound to collar me soon.

Bear with me brother fishermen as I crank out this post before I hear that "NOW what are you doing!!"

HAGG LAKE 06-11-2005
Same condistions as previous three weeks. Fished all afternoon and managed to thumb two LM's. No real size to them - caught out of Scoggins arm using 4" Green Senko weightless. I only include a picture of the LM so it can be compared to the smallmouth in my next reports. So here are some pics!

WILLAMETTE RIVER (06-12, 06-13, and 06-14-2005)
Fishing has been improving as the days move on. When my normal hole wasn't putting much out I moved downstream. All fish shown here are caught the same way - 4" Senko (green/watermelon) fished weightless 2 hours before slack tide up untill one hour after rising again.

They refer to Senkos as "finesse baits", and this they are as I've learned to baby these beauties...hell...I love them! Hard time sleeping at night when I can only see my the bow in the line jump - bump-bump-BOOM!

Enjoy the pics and lastly - thanks again to Ex-Bass Guide Roger Luce for teaching me the graceful art of Senko fishing!

One more thing - fished Bethany Lake just west of Beaverton (by PCC Rock Creek). Drink looks mighty bassy.....but unable to locate any. Only big carp. But have heard tale of 5lbers in this water - anyone?

Regards To All!

Hey man, I live right down from it. I suggest if you wanna come for a visit we hit Commonwealth instead of beathany... holds more bass and bigger fish. Bethany is kinda slow right now as well. Have talked to a few people fishing it and they say they havnt caught trout nor catfish in a while.

Now wait wait wait a minute......

Your saying Comminwealth Lake in Beaverton holds decent bass? - and better than Bethany? I would love to check it out as I'm a mere 3 miles away.

Commonwealth just doesn't look as Bassy as Bethany - and isn't it a cement bottom?

Hey brother - if the bass are there SO AM I! Any information or fish'n stories appriciated!

INFO ON Commonwealth ---I had to find the pond myself

http://olivessf.live.advance.net/outdoors/hiking/images/hike19.gif

Commonwealth Lake is stocked each spring with rainbow trout and with warm-water fish (bass, bluegill and crappie) in the summer. Fishing is winding down this year due to the weather, but improved water quality from the drainage enhancements should help more fish survive the winter and be ready to bite a hook next spring.

WHAT: Commonwealth Lake Park covers 20 acres in a residential part of unincorporated Beaverton. The lake was built by a developer in 1965 and was turned over to the Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District for management in 1969. A local parks bond measure has funded dredging of the lake to improve its water quality, installation of three wooden fishing platforms and reseeding of grassy areas. The project began last year and will soon be completed with interpretive signs. The lake captures the waters of Johnson Creek, which flows from the West Hills and eventually joins the Tualatin River at Hillsboro.

THE DRIVE: Commonwealth Lake Park lies just south of U.S. 26, the Sunset Highway, between the Southwest Cedar Hills and Murray Boulevard exits. Drive south from the freeway on Cedar Hills Boulevard and take the first right-hand turn to the west. Follow Southwest Butner Road for a half-mile to a tiny parking lot at the north end of the lake. Other parking is available on neighborhood streets.

THE TRAIL: Walk toward the lake from wherever you park, get on the paved path and make the loop around the lake.

DISTANCE: The paved path around the lake is 0.8 miles long.

RATING: Beginner; good for children on bicycles or skates, as well as for people in wheelchairs and dogs on a leash.

CAUTION: Commonwealth Lake Park is very much part of the Cedar Hills neighborhood of Beaverton. Respect the nearby homeowners' privacy and property.

FOR MORE INFORMATION: Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District, 15707 S.W. Walker Road, Beaverton, Ore. 97006; 645-6433.
