i'm getting the catfishing jones-(addiction withdrawl) and i am hoping that someone has been catching some at wickiup reservoir, or i should rephrase that, since the illegal planting of catfish in wickiup reservoir several years ago has anyone been catching any channel catfish out of the reservoir. the last time i hit the flats about 3 years ago i saw a about 16" channel cat that had been injured twitching on the surface. there where several bank fishermen north of the dam boat launch, so i'm guessing they where practicing catch and release :smash: on these catfish.as soon as i get a warm evening i'll go drown a couple of worms and give a report.

I have only caught bullheads in Wickiup. And this was with my downrigger fishing for kokanee!!! Are there really channel cats in Wickiup?

Ochoco Res. out of Prineville has been putting out some nice large bullheads. I was there last weekend for trout and at the cleaning station the trash cans had lots of bullheads in it.

we tried for cats from 6:30 to 8:30 with out a bite, so we will give it a try again. what we did see was 7 eagles plus and a dead cougar on the bank, now my wife understands why i make her pack the 38 while out in the woods or desert, this appered to be a mature male about 140lbs plus about 2 weeks dead. this cat was larger than my wife and it realy got the point across how dangerous an animal this size can be.

Cut up the dead kitten and use it for catfish bait...

did about 6 hrs saturday before the lightning started exploding trees on wickiup we had one strike trolling rapalas. i installed the new fishfinder in the boat and spent a couple of hrs checking it out looking for fish, i did pick up a couple of schools that where acting like cats we tried nightcrawlers for a while but no bites, i'll try again this week.
