My hot streak was fun but it’s NOW over ! I fished Saturday with a fellow IFISHer. We fished the Willy and a bay off the Columbia River in the Portland area. We zipped on the Willy and got two S.M. Bass out of the bay (one each). We fished hard and had little to show for it. I got lots of hits but did not hook up . I think the weather had a lot to do with it and the locations held few fish. I also did not head up river on Sunday so that was it for the weekend. I hope you all did better than me! Well there is always Friday at Silver Lake :smash:! Maybe some of you will believe my numbers from this week .

I can personally say that I did! after our pm's I fished that pond I was telling you about and in 3 hours the 2 of us had about 50 largemouth landed from 10" to 3 lbs. The first fish of the morning from me inhaled my topwater so deep I couldn't get the lure out without keeping the fish :depressed:. I'd never eaten largemouth before, It actually was pretty good, but still would rather c&r. Most fish were caught on chartruese spinnerbaits.

Don't feel too bad, Roger. Bucketmouth and I fished the upper willie most of the day Saturday and it was spotty at best. Once we get some consistant weather, both rivers should start picking up.

LOL...my Dad always said "you weren't holding your mouth right" I always think of that when the fishing isn't so good. Thanks again Roger for the info on Silver

Don't give up on it YET Roger....was fishing a mere mile or two upriver from you - using your tactics - and fishing has improved with each day. Thumbed seven this afternoon, five of which were nice fish!

See my recent post!
