Tying Dee Flies that is!

They are a lot of work, but well worth it, I usually sit down with a cold one to help me concentrate. I don't rush it and sometimes it may take a couple of cold ones, to tie one fly!

Can't wait till the Summer Steelhead gets here to try these beauties out.

Great looking flies! I'm not up to that level w/ my tying yet. Those are the kind of things you don't want to lose to a snag.

:applause: Those are beauties ! What are you using for the long hackle ?

I don't want to loose them on a snag either, I usually just fish them in places like our Campwater where there is no brush to contend with.

As for the hackle it's from a big black and grey bird I got from the UK about 10 years ago. I wish it was still available, but the guy that had the shop sold out and left for South America. He was still offering stuff like Mcaw shins, but I'm not too sure about how legal things were, so I've since lost tough with him.

Last night I saw an auction on eBay that had some African Heron in it, but it had a reserve price and was starting to go for more than I wanted to pay!

Look like great flies :applause:!

When do the summer runs start hitting the North Umpqua? I'm scheduled to be down there around July 1 (staying at Steamboat).

Hey Andy:

4th of July is usually the opener.

Andy,

Wish I could meet up with you that weekend, but I am going to be heading to the Big D area during that time.
