Armed with all the good advice I've received here I headed out to the Wilson. made my biggest catch of the day and hadn't even strung up my fly rod yet. Pulling off the raod at the first hole I planned to try a van full of twentysomethings was up to the axles in mud. Out comes the tow strap and popped em out. I felt sorry for them cause these guys had planned to get there last night and fish early. instead they spent the night trying to get the van out of the mud. Well, they headed back home for sleep and I headed down to the river.

There was a light hatch of what looked like PMD's so thats what I threw, drys, emergers. nothing but nursery fish, now educated, for about an hour. So down river a bit more, in the general neighborhood of mp 15. Tried the pmd dry and 15 minute later left it on a branch on the opposite shore . Oh well, trees gotta eat too. I took it as a sign and tied on my only prince nymph. 3rd drift, on the rise, WAM, fish on. Nice 11 incher. I caught 4 more in the same stretch of water biggets about 13 inches. left the digital camera at home, what a brain sturgeon . By then it was time to head home. So I cleaned up all the lure wrappers someone left on the rocks  and headed out.
Beautiful day on the river, educated a few Cutts. I'm a happy guy :yay: . Didn't see any steelhead and didn't have time to hunt em'. Guess that gives me a good reason to go back ( ya, like I need a reason ). AND managed to avoid swimmers the whole morning

Sounds great lnf  . I've fished the lower portions from Jones creek down to mp 12, but no any higher. I'll give a holler in a few weeks. I have to leave town for work mid next week. No fly fishing in the netherlands :depressed:

This time of year you are catching resident cutts not sea runs, right?

residents, I think. There was nothing aggresive enough to indicate it had survived the big blue jungle.
