Ok,, I finally got to the US and stocked up on some flies,, woolly buggers, skunks, bead heads, and a corn/egg pattern to match the hatch being thrown from the dock.

I feel like I am on a game of survivor - I don't have all my stuff, just tying a nail knot without my tools is pain. I also don't have any Mucilin... mmm what to do? butter? criso? Any ideas?

I took my daughter down and threw out a bobber/corn for a while and then shifted to Bobber/and some pautskee eggs I brought back. She had a bobber down and I set the hook with her princess pole and the fight was on. Now where is my daughter.. ah chasing butterflied.. oh dear you want to catch this fish.. Well She go down there and she did a great job. Fish #3 for her. It was about a 8" gold carp - koi.

now as for me, I had flogged my line out a ways out there (floating line and a sinking bugger), and while I was finishing up with her catch my slack fly line when taunt... FAST. I jumped up and missed it.. dang.. given the speed and the immediate feel I am sure it was a grasss carp.

My neighbor recently got his clock cleaned by one.. stripped his spinning gear and took all of his line! I have seen 8-10 pounders cruising the water way. I am conerned my 6wt won't be enough, but I got a butt load of 50# power pro backing
