Well I fished the Upper Clackamas drainage today. I started up on the Colawash fishing I got two cutts fishing there on a reversed spider. Then I moved down to were the oak grove fork dumps into the Clackamas River and as I was walking through the woods I noticed a few caddis flying around, so I tried a size 14 deer hair caddis and landed two other cutts. I the moved up to one of my favorite places to fish on the oak grove fork it is quite a little walk in there but I managed to catch four other fish out of three pools that I fished. I was using a size 12 stimulator I had a total about 16 rises on dries and 8 fish landed and released to be caught another day. There was an abundance of flies around even some big stone fly’s but the fish did not seem to be feeding on top as much as I would expect. The water was still pretty cold and gin clear. Give it a month of warm weather and the fish will really turn on. I did see a father and son team fishing the oak grove fork using bait I tried to tell the father that it was illegal to use bate in that section of the river but I do not think he could hear me thought the rattling of the 20 or so empty PBR cans littler around them. Mind you it was 7am and he was drunk already.:hoboy: All in all it was a great morning on the river enjoying the wonder that God has given us on one of the most beautiful rivers around. Rp

Thanks for the report Ryan, nice day on a beautiful river and fish to boot. Life doesn't get much better

as for your drunk, maybe he figured it was 4 pm in the Netherlands might as well have some beers. Seems to be a recurring theme on most of the rivers these days

Yeah it is sad people have no respect for the wonderful nature the good Lord has given us. Rp

Sounds like a great outing - despite the human encounter.
