As somone who is relatively new to flyfishing and as someone who received a float tube as a gift, I'm wondering.

Do I wear my waders in it, and if so only with a belt?

How much are the big float tube fins and will they fit over my neoprene booties?

Seem like basic questions, but I've only seen float tubes on the water and not the coming and going from land.

Wear your waders with your belt and suspenders (unless the water is real warm).

The price of tube fins varies. Simple fins may only cost $30. Jet fins which are better, cost more (up to $135). Wear the fins over your boots. You will need your boots on to wade in and out of the lake.

When you tie on the fins, interwine them with the laces of the boots. That way you don't lose fins.

I just bought a nice pair of fins from Fishemans and only paid $19.00. I have looked at many of them. I used to use regular dive fins but they ruin waders by compressing the neoprene and causing holes. What makes fins good vs. bad for me is the methode of strapping. They are a pain to put on anyhow. The simpler the better. These fins use a Velcro Strap. Not the best but they are simple and easy to put on. The heel strap is excellent.

During the summer if the water is warm enough Cut offs will do. But you will need some kind of wader for most situations.

The law requires a floatation device. If you can afford one an inflatable vest is nice.

Good luck

I use my dive fins over my boots. They are made to fit over boots of some kind. Works just fine. Wear waders or some protection for your legs. Be careful when fishing large bodies of water to not get too far from your entry point. It took me 45 minutes to swim back to the boat ramp once at Little Lava Lake after the wind came up.
