Hi all,
My brother is on leave from Afganistan next week and we are going to hike the Rogue from Grave to Paradise lodge. I was looking at the map and noticed several tributaries and was wondering if anyone could recommend a particular one and any fly recommendations also. We will only be using a floating line but may try a sinking leader if better. ($$$)
Thanks for your time,
T

Most of the tributaries on the North bank are small, and probably don't have many fish. Most of the lower and middle Rogue habitat is occupied by anadromous fish rather than native trout. One possible exception if it is open to fishing would be Mule Creek at Marial. Take a hike up the trail. It's worth the scenery if not the fishing. This time of year won't find much going on with Steelhead in the Rogue, nevertheless I would do some fishing. There is a run of Summer Steelhead that will start in soon. Who knows, you might find one.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate your time. I should have said the tributary confluences. Someone told me that trout/steelhead hangout were the tribs run in due to cooler temps. I hope we catch something, that (rod kit) would be a lot of dead weight
Thanks,
T
