I have a 1995 Yamaha 25 hp long shaft which I have on a 16ft Western aluminum boat. The motor is a dream machine but now it needs a new prop.

The old one worked just fine for me, Top speed was a ok and trolling was ok with a drift sock. The old prop is 9&7/8 x 10&1/2.

I cannot find a exact replacement without ordering and was wondering how much differen the boat will act with a 9&7/8 x 9&1/2 prop? Browns landing said that I most likely couldnt tell the difference but thought I would ask.

Thanks in advance.

All else being equal you might have slightly higher rpm at WOT. If you were already at max recommended rpm with the old prop you will want to avoid going any higher.

I also doubt if you could tell 3/8" difference.

I just put on a 9 7/8x9 It gets on plane faster w/a load ie decoys and gear.Top speed is a little slower just a couple mph's Trolls slower I like it alot better than stock but you should be able to find the old size if it worked for you.Let me know I will tell you a couple of places to look
