Herring Problem

Went fishing out of Newport last week-end and on Sunday the day came to an abrubt end when the electronic module on the engine decided it did not want to work. Let me tell you ,there is nothing more frantic than a motor that will not start when fishing close in at Seal Rock. Those waves look really big to me. We worked on the motor for an hour and for some unknown reason we got it started before the Coast Guard boat arrived at our location. We were able to run back to South Beach Marina and dock at the ramp. Turned the motor off and that has been the last time it ran.
Have Tuesday appt. for boat doctor.Bad news is it will take a couple of weeks to get all the parts and then have the mechanic fix it.So Memorial Day week-end is a maybe. If no boat, there is always the charters.
Just wondering if anyone else has ever an electronic module act this way. What did it take to make all of the repairs?
